Hello everyone, I am trying to install Gentoo to an Acer One 10. I am unable to even detect the hard disk drives with the default kernel as it uses mmc memory; I have added the following modules to my kernel with modprobe -a:
Code:
mmc_core
mmc_block
cb710_mmc
via_sdmmc

I am still unable to see the flash memory with lsblk with these modules loaded; they are visible with lsmod and appear to be loaded correctly.

I feel I am missing something very basic. Do I need to run a command after adding these modules to the kernel in order to see the mmc memory with lsblk?

When booting into a live Kali USB I am able to see the HDD with lsblk listed as mmcblk0, so I know the drive is detectable.

Please advise, thank you.

dartleader,

I suspect that the eMMC card is enumerated via ACPI.
Sidestep the problem by installing to USB stqrage. Once your own kernel can see the eMMC card, you can move the install.

Kerusker, I am using the minimal installation USB image.

Neddy, I'll give installation to another USB drive a shot, that's a great workaround, thanks!
