Hello All,

Been trying to figure out why this compile fails, and for the life of me I can't figure it out. I tried 0.8.2 and 0.7.13-r1 and get similar errors. When I try 9999 an error stating my kernel lacks a PDE_Data interface.

I hope I can find a fix, because the next idea I have is to boot this install without zfs (which will take many workarounds), emerge zfs then, and then port the os back.

Please post an actual error message.

Are you sure about the spelling of that? I don't see a reference to PDE_Data in the latest kernel source. There is a PDE_DATA though.

That is a very old kernel. If you are trying to use the latest ZFS sources, those probably track the latest kernel.

Turns out the kernel version wasnt the problem, but a wonky setting in my kernel to be installed. Dont know which as I tried with no config then exiting menuconfig and now it installs.

I will do a diff on the configurations to figure it out.

Thanks for the help.

Narrowed it down to the AMDGPU settings in the kernel and the kernel image compiles but does not make a bzimage. Weird. Different error than ZFS.
