Hello. Today i`ve noticed a problem with my Logitech f310 gamepad. Its triggers (LT and RT) are recognized as just buttons, so it only could be "pressed" or not, disregarding any intermediate positions. That isnt the way how gamepad`s triggers should work, because many racing games for example are using gas and brake functions on it. And that`s obviously isnt a hardware failure because this pad is working fine in windows. What should i do to make those triggers appear as axis? I can provide additional configs (i.e kernel) if needed.

Do you have CONFIG_HID_LOGITECH enabled?

Code:
zcat /proc/config.gz |grep -i logit
# CONFIG_HID_LOGITECH is not set

That seems to be not. Should i? Its description says "Support for Logitech devices that are not fully compliant with HID standard." and i dont know is F310 fully compliant or not. Also that gamepad is proven to be fully xbox compatible, so i didnt even installed any drivers to make it work in windows. Just out of the box. Maybe i should use xpad module for it?

The easy way to find out would be to enable modules for both drivers and see which one it loads.

but that CONFIG_HID_LOGITECH have a sub-menu. like CONFIG_HID_LOGITECH_HIDPP , CONFIG_LOGITECH_FF , CONFIG_LOGIRUMBLEPAD2_FF , CONFIG_LOGIG940_FF and CONFIG_LOGIWHEELS_FF . What should i select? And according to its descriptions i have none of devices mentioned there.

Now i`ve enabled that CONFIG_HID_LOGITECH in the kernel and it did nothing. The triggers on that gamepad are still recognized in system only as buttons.

upd SOLVED. The Logitech f310 gamepad has dual mode one is xinput (Xbox-compatible) and second is Dinput (for playing old games). Mine was set to Dinput mode this setting is changed by the switch on the lower side of the gamepad. That`s why the triggers were recognized as buttons. BTW same behavior under Windows too.
