Hi everyone,

I've tried to install Gentoo a couple of times now and I'm stuck on some kind of error while trying to emerge world.
I am relatively new to all of this, so my understanding is still somewhat limited. To be honest, I'm not sure where to start searching for the cause of this error.
I was hoping that somebody could push me in the right direction towards solving this issue. Please help.

Here is the link to the whole build log: https://pastebin.pl/view/3538a9df
Below is the content of emerge --info '=sys-devel/gcc-9.2.0-r2::gentoo':

This often indicates out-of-memory. If I read your emerge --info correctly, you have 1GB of RAM and 0.5GB of swap. Am I reading that right? That seems quite low for building gcc, even with MAKEOPTS=-j1 (which you have, and which you should use for a system with these capabilities). You could probably get this to work by adding more swap (say, at least 4GB total), but if RAM is easy to get (already in the house, or, if this is a VM, available on the host), I would recommend that instead.

You were right! Larger swap solved the problem and it compiled without errors. Now I can continue installation. Thank You for your help!
