Hi, I recently bought a new laptop, but not everything is supported by the kernel yet.

Here are my issues:
- Brightness keys, keyboard backlight, touchpad enable/disable, and suspend are not detected (xev does not seem them)
- The keyboard backlight can be changed with https://github.com/wroberts/rogauracore/ but does not work unless I go into windows (I dual boot) and return without powering off, I can also make it work if I attach the keyboard to a Windows VM and return it to the host, I suspect something wrong with kernel driver, the keyboard also appears to be detected as a mouse at least on XFCE settings.
- The headphones jack is not detected (played around with hdajackretask but no success yet)

I'm running gentoo-sources 5.4.36, can't upgrade more than this because I use ZFS as root.

Any tips on how to further troubleshoot it or possible solutions are welcome.
While none of the issues are a major problem for my usage, it would be nice to fix them, I'm even willing to dig into kernel source code if needed.

Thanks

For brightness you can echo values to /sys.
Screen brightness:
Code:

echo 500 > /sys/class/backlight/intel_backlight/brightness

You may use your own values 500,600,1000 etc.

For keyboard backlight:

Code:

echo 3 > /sys/class/leds/asus::kbd_backlight/brightness

Use 0,1,2,3.
Please list these directories to find the appropriate filenames for YOUR own system...

I failed to mention, but these work from XFCE power manager, so I can just use the slider, my issue is specifically the Hardware buttons.

Does not work for my specific keyboard, it works for other laptops, this one has a per-key LED.
