Silian I wonder if you could do me a favour. Im having a problem with yaboot that was solved in this thread:

https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?t=119331

The only problem is it is written in Italian which is a language that unfortunatly I do no speak. I noticed that you participated in this discussion and I would be extremely grateful if you could reply with the solution in english.

Thanks in advance....

Thanks for your advice sonic_ but babelfish wasnt quite up to the job  .
I had tried using google's language translation but that wasnt much better either.

Anyway thanks to pinguinoferoce, thanks pinguinoferoce :D , I now have enough information to try the solution myself.

/Me hugs gentoo community for all its help

Ok it wasnt Ctrl I had to hold during boot it was Option. The problem is that after booting into linux using the Open Firmware loader doing yabootconfig still gives me the same error:

Creating a simple /mnt/gentoo/etc/yaboot.conf ...
hpmount: /dev/hda5 this is not a HFS+ volume (unknown error 4294967295)
Running mkfboot to make the disk bootable...
Done
