Don't believe it's been posted here yet: somebody on the Debian ppc-list has managed to get the keyboard backlight ont the AlBook working.

Check out the tread on:
http://lists.debian.org/debian-powerpc/2004/debian-powerpc-200401/thrd2.html

Works fine on my 15" 1.25Ghz.

Seems kinda pointless. It's still a little primitive, and it will most likely turn up as a part of pbbuttonsd very soon.

Could any of you give me some precision about the installation procedure ?
There is no Readme in any of the files they provide.

Thanks

I should probably mention that keyboard backlight support is now included in pbbuttonsd-0.5.9.
Just make sure i2c dev is compiled in or that the modules are loaded. (If you don't have a /dev/i2c-?, they probably aren't)

I've uploaded various config files (including my current kernel config) to
http://l003026.zseriespenguins.ihost.com/~gnome/gentoo/.

Anyone already got decent pbbuttonsd.conf settings? Defaults really suck, way to sensitive to sensor readings. Can't seem to be able to get it right.

Thanks for your answers.

You are right I do not have i2c (Actually I was confused to see I had no /dev/i2c...).

The problem is that I have just tried to emerge it and it requests for a 2.4.x kernel... and that I have a 2.6.1_benh1.

So what is the solution then ?

Regards,

Xavier
