Code:

    versions (-v short option)
Displays the versions available for a specific package. Colour coded
to indicate installation status and displays slot information.
         (I)nstalled

using ACCEPT_KEYWORDS on commandline is deprecated because potentially dangerous. the right way to emerge unstable packages is
Code:
touch /etc/portage/package.keywords
echo "$CATEGORY/$PROGRAM ~x86" >> /etc/portage/package.keywords
emerge $PROGRAM

thank you.

So if I get you correctly this means that the ACCEPT_KEYWORD is only valid for that one single package and nothing else. Arghhhh!

I wish I'd known that sooner! I guess I could have looked here.

on the contrary.
using ACCEPT_KEYWORDS on commandline will apply ~x86 to the package in question and all its dependencies. if you ever tried getting the newest firefox that way and found out portage wanted to upgrade half your system, you know what i mean. worse still: if you emerge this way, portage will not remember what is *supposed* to be ~x86, and will try to downgrade it all at the next emerge -uvD world.
all in all, bah.
