Does anyone know of a KDE applet (that works for KDE 3.2) that sits in the kicker (the bar with icons on / menu / clock) that will display the percentage or time left for the battery power.

I have apm emulation turned on in the kernel so the fact that im using an iBook shouldnt matter. If I do 'cat /proc/apm' it successfully displays the % and time left for the battery.

I would have thought KDE would come with one by default (like Gnome) but I cant seem to find it...

Thanks

Edit: Hmm maybe this should have been posted in 'Hardware and Laptops' or 'Desktop Environments'. If your a mod feel free to move it if necessary...

KLaptop comes as part of kde 3.1.5 (so i assume it is also part of 3.2).

If you go into the Control Center in kde, then select 'Power Control', you will see 'Laptop battery' under which there is an option to show the battery monitor in the systray.

hope this is what you were looking for :)

Nope it isnt there. The only option under 'Power Control' is 'Display Power Control' which has options to enable power management (i.e. suspend after so many minutes) but no klaptop... :(

I emerged kdebase, kdemultimedia, kdepim, kdeaddons and kdenetwork. Is Klaptop in another package????

There is no mention of it here: http://docs.kde.org/index_head.html
