I know it's possible to not have a seperate boot partition (for the kernel, not the 800k boot part.), but is there any restriction as to how far into the disk yaboot can boot?

Basically, i want to have

hda1 800k boot partition thingy
hda2 30gig HFS+ for OSX
hda3 500meg swap
hda4 10gig (or so) ext3

Can I put my kernel on the ext3 part. and have yaboot boot into it?

My reason for not having a seperate boot partition is so I can avoid a resinstall of OSX on my new iBook by just resizing the HFS+ part to give me free space at the end of my drive. If I want a boot part, it will involve shifting a lot of data about 50meg along.[/i]

It is no problem if you don't have a separate boot partition.
You only have to configure your bootloader to boot from the directory with your kernel.
