Hi!
I have troubles getting my Airport card to work.
I have a ordanary PCMCIA Netgar MA521 WLAN Card as well. The card fits into the Airport slot.
I didn't give it a try jet, but do you think I can use the Airport-slot with a PCMCIA WLAN Card? As far as I know isn't the Airport slot a PCMCIA slot (I dont need the PCMCIA drivers to load the airport card).

No, I don't think the airport slot is a regular pcmcia slot, additionally I don't think there's a ppc port of the netgear drivers, athough it's been a while since I checked. I know the linux x86 netgear driver was coming along.

As for the airport card, make sure your kernel is configured for it. As of 2.4.22, which is the kernel in my ppc laptop, there is support for the 802.11b airport card. If you have that compiled as a module, make sure you're loading it.

Hmm. I'll go update the kernel while I'm thinking about it.

i use a netgear pcmcia MA401 16bit card and pcmcia-cs compiled against ppc-sources (2.4.24) , that works for me ... this uses cardmgr to load the drivers... this is done automatically at boot by using rc-update to add pcmcia to the default run level.
