I currently consider buying a used powerbook g3 500 MHz w/ 512 Mb, and I have two questions on my mind :

- Is the sound card any good (specs, driver support, etc.) ?
- How about performance ?

thanks !

I see at least two of them:

- airport not currently supported with linux
- DRI video output not working (can be a deal broker if you want to use external screen; just a little inconvenience for me: I switch to OsX when I do presentation with a video projector).

Plus a few other limitations of the linux support that may be a problem to you, eg lack of 3D video acceleration support for Radeon 9600 :(

Regards,

Xavier

Eh? Sure it is. Airport Extreme isn't though.

Their are workarounds to make this work, and it will work with a vga adapter straight off.

He's not going to have that problem with an older powerbook.

Split from "No MacOS on a Powerbook" as really not relevant.
