Will do though unfortunately I won't have access to the machine this is going on for a week or so. It's been like that for the last week as well (wish I had more time with it).

Well, it compiles now but I get a segfault when I try to run quik.

echo "sys-apps/quik -*" >> /etc/portage/package.keywords
emerge quik
< merging blah blah blah >
nano -w /etc/quik.conf
< configure blah blah blah >
cp /etc/quik.conf /boot
cd /boot
quik -v -C quik.conf
Second stage loader is on /dev/sda2
Conffile is quik.conf
Segmentation fault

I did a Google search for that ydl rpm (nice find btw) and found its binary cousin. I downloaded that and used rpm2targz, untarred it, and installed it over my current quik install. I configured quik again at that point but it still segfaults.

Any ideas?

Could you explain how or link me to an explanation? I haven't had to submit a bug report before.
