|
do you know this? your fonts was perfect! PERFECT! and then they got spoiled, and you just think, DAMMIT! and you want to commit suicide. well.. i have got some tips that might help you out.
i have alot experience in fonts, i have done alot gentoo installs just to figure out what causes fonts to fuck up. i have made scripts to fix fonts, i have done anything, even created daily snapshots of my settings considering fonts, to be ensured.
now i will tell some examples of what can happen, and how to fix.
1: my fonts is different in gnome and kde applications, when i use the same fonts/sizes?! WHAT THE HECK!?
well.. thats sad. and, i understand your anger fully. open gnome-control-center, and adjust the settings, so you like them, then you go and change the dot per inch up or down, till they fit in kde.
2: all my font settings is gone for gnome applications, while i run kde.
for gnome 2.4 or down run gnome-settings-daemon. for gnome 2.6 run /usr/libexec/gnome-settings-daemon
3: omg! i have installed alot fonts, they are visible in the font selectors, but they are not the ones that are used when i select them? i will go suicide soon!!!!
i understand that too, as this case happend to me (well not suicide obviously, as im typing this guide), but the problem. and it didnt work to just recache the font stuff for xfree. but i found a solution: go into kde control center, and down to the font install, you dont need to install anything, just enter administration mode, and browse through the folders, and then restart the window manager. and you are done.'
more stuff will come in a few days, i cant be arsed to write them now, so sad are they _________________ Sandberg Enterprises |

the solution that is working for me i just happened to read about
Code: | emerge gtk-theme-switch |
and then run
and you're set. the gnome-settings-daemon screws my kde fonts up every time i start it, so, hands of that ***** _________________ Easily backup up your system? klick
