hey guys,

I've had a problem shutting down jboss and getting connection refused exceptions for port 1099. I have found the solution. Jboss has a bug in it and ignores the bind address passed in with the -d option and needs the -Djava.rmi.server.hostname= parameter passed in as well into the run.sh script. So to fix this I modified my jboss file in conf.d directory so that CMD_START respects this paramater as follows

Code:
CMD_START="JAVA_OPTS=\"${SERVER_SETTINGS}\" ${JBOSS_HOME}/bin/run.sh -b ${JBOSS_BIND_ADDRESS} -c ${JBOSS_CONF} -Djava.rmi.server.hostname=${JBOSS_BIND_ADDRESS}"

I also use the jboss shutdown script and changed CMD_STOP as follows
Code:
CMD_STOP="JAVA_OPTS=\"${SERVER_SETTINGS}\" ${JBOSS_HOME}/bin/shutdown.sh -s${JBOSS_BIND_ADDRESS} -S"

here is an article on the jboss site describing the problem
http://jboss.org/index.html?module=bb&op=viewtopic&t=43999

Hope this is helpfull
