I have an Apple Powerbook G3 400MHz (pismo):
http://www.lowendmac.com/pb2/pismo.shtml

That page shows that the video is an ATI Rage Mobility 128, while lspci reports it to be an ATI Rage mobility M3 AGP 2x (Rev 02).

Creating a starting point XFree86 config file by using XFree -configure creates the file, but lists the following:

List of video drivers:
atimisc
r128
radeon
mga
glint
s3virge
sis
savage
trident
chips
tdfx
fbdev
ati
imstt
vga
nv
imstt
v4l
(EE) Failed to load module "imstt" (once-only module, 0)
(++) Using config file: "/root/XF86Config.new"
(EE) R128(0): Cannot read V_BIOS (5)

XFree86 is not able to detect your mouse.
Edit the file and correct the Device.

Your XF86Config file is /root/XF86Config.new

Can someone help me to get XFree86 running on this?

Code:
$ emerge xeasyconf
$ Xeasyconf

All you need to do. You can use r128 or ati as the driver.

Thanks! I actually found that exact information in the Gentoo on PPC FAQ (I think) shortly after I posted here.

X now seems to work. Now I need to get kde to compile and install properly. Probably need to add more memory to this thing. :)
