Anyone using xfs on the root filesystem ? (and not having a separate boot partition, i mean, the kernel is on the xfs partition).

i just want to confirm that it works ..

I use it and it works without problems (at least on x86). Just don't forget to compile xfs-support into your kernel ;-)
On my iBook I use a boot-partition with ext2 and a separate root-partition with reiserfs.

By the way: reiserfs sucks! I had no problems on my iBook so far, but on my x86-machine it wracked the whole hd :-( . And no, I did not play around to much. I just wanted to reboot... and never saw my data again.

(that's why I'm using xfs now)

I've had lots of luck with reiserfs on both my G4 and on my x86 server - I use it for the root partition on both.
