I mounted /dev/hda10 to /mnt/osx and I want to access my mp3 in iTunes direcroty, but I can only access file in /Users/tzangms/.
It'll say that I have no permission when I want to access /Users/tzangms/Music.
How can I access my mp3 files in /Users/tzangms/Music/... as a normal user?

what he means is (i think) if you use user "jaspal" in gentoo, use user "jaspal" in osx....

so that when it looks at the permissions, it sees that "jaspal" has access to the files

;)

hope that helps...

erm... the actual user name is not the problem, it's the userid (i.e. the number that every user has associated, cf for example /etc/passwd). the number must be the same for the directory on os-x and linux, otherwise the file system won't allow you to access the directory.

solutions
- make the dir readable to everybody (bad)
- synchronize the userids on both system
- change to root :-)

cheers,
jens :)
