ok, heres the deal, I'll been fighting with getting the 2.6.5 kernel to work all day on my imac.

I've managed to get it to go as far as getting it to start the init scripts before I start to get segmentation errors, and then It completly lock up at Init run level three.

I've tryed quite a few kernel configuerations, plus the live cd configueration (unchanged, and modifyed to helpfuly get the blasted thing to work...).

I've checked, and I can get the lcd (2004.1) to boot on this computer, so I'm pretty sure that somehow, the 2.6.5 kernel works for it.

My specs are:

Imac (2002; 1 GB ram, 800 mhz g4)
gentoo 2004.1 (installed friday)

Am I wrong in assuming that my (realativly) new computer should be supported?

I need more info to actually tell you whats going on, however, I *think* that you didnt update the enviroment correctly when you were installing.....That would have an effect on the init scripts not loading right since all the seetings werent epxorted to the hard disk before you exited the chroot. Get me some more info and I may be able help you some more.
