This is odd, when I close the lid of my ibook it no longer goes to sleep. This used to work before. If I press the power button it sleeps just fine and if I close the lid then and open it, it wakes up normally. It also goes to sleep fine when the sleep timout is reached. What could be causing this? Here's what I have:

pbbuttonsd, version 0.5.2, (c) 2002 Matthias Grimm
Linux 2.4.24-ppc-r4 (ppc-sources)
iBook G3 900Mhz

Here is what the pbbuttonsd.conf file looks like:

Code:

Any advice on what the problem could be?

I had the same problem with 2.6.3 kernel.
The problem fixed itself after downgrading to 2.4.24 kernel.

But I am using a 2.4.24 kernel. I've never used the 2.6.x kernels yet. I've been using the same kernel config file as before. Unless something's changed in the kernel regarding power management that I'm not aware of?

pbbuttonsd is doing strange things all the time it seems.
Lidclose is working with me but on AC the screen brightness is set to full when closing the lid instead of dim it to fully dark.
But I can live with it :-)
kernel 2.6.3_rc2-benh1
