I found this ages ago and can't see it anywhere in the forums. Added it when I tried nmap one day :).
Code:
nano -w /usr/X11R6/bin/startx
find serverflags=
add -nolisten tcp
eg- serverflags="-nolisten tcp"

or for gdm
Code:
nano -w /etc/X11/gdm/gdm.conf
find command=
add in -nolisten tcp
eg-  command=/etc/X11/bin/X -nolisten tcp

Soz if this was posted before

I think the default behaviour of Gentoo's ebuild was to change it to close port 6000. I might be wrong though.

cool :)

It might be fixed now then. I think I did it when I first installed gentoo which was probably a year or so ago. So it's possibly fixed in the ebuild now.
