jsegel's problem is that his PBG4 is brand new, and doesn't have full support for his hardware in linux. There's nothing he can do (except wait).

my advice on the latter is to add a script to /etc/local.start (or whatever it's called) so that it is automatically done every reboot.

I wrote a little script
Code:

root@tigger ~ # cat /etc/init.d/eth1setup
#!/sbin/runscript
# Copyright by savage.  Initializes eth1 (airport) using iwconfig
# $Header$

WIFI_ESSID=" < NETWORK NAME GOES HERE> "
WIFI_KEY=" <KEY GOES HERE > "

start() {
  ebegin "Configuring Airport wireless"
  /usr/sbin/iwconfig eth1 essid ${WIFI_ESSID} key ${WIFI_KEY}
  return 0
}

stop() {
  return 0
}

and saved it as /etc/init.d/eth1setup. In addition, i added
Code:
after eth1setup

to /etc/init.d/net.eth1's depend() { .... } section. Then I added both as startup skripts to the default runlevel 3
Code:
rc-update add eth1setup default

Works most excellent...
