Hello.

I've emerged openbox on my gentoo machine but am having some problems getting the menu to work correctly. On x86, I just right click and my menu pops up all nice-like. However, doing a control-click doesn't bring up a menu.

I have three button emulation compiled into my kernel but I need to map them to keys correct?

Anyone have a good howto for this?

fire up a terminal, type:

showkey -k

press the button you want to act as middle-click (eg: F11)
it spits out the keycode (eg: 87)

Then, ditto for right-click (eg: Enter-next-to-Space-bar)
ditto (eg: 96)

Wait ten seconds, showkey will quit automatically.

nano /etc/sysctl.conf (I *think*, as I am in OSX right now. Anyone can confirm/deny?)

scroll to the bottom, add the lines (these use my keycodes from above):

dev.mac_hid.mouse_button_emulation=1
dev.mac_hid.mouse_button2_keycode=87
dev.mac_hid.mouse_button3_keycode=96

Upon next reboot, you will have F11 as middle-click, enter-next-to-space-bar as right-click.

Actually, I was able to use the post about configuring the Powerbook to get middle/right click functionality out of the trackpad. The init.d scripts posted works great.

I'm pretty sure the method you listed works as well. Thank for the help.
