Hello,

I'm enjoying now with my iBook G4-1Ghz.

how ever it's so slow that i'm feel, i tried pystone test.

Code:

/usr/lib/python2.3/test/pystone.py

and my result is,
Code:

# /usr/lib/python2.3/test/pystone.py
Pystone(1.1) time for 50000 passes = 6.58
This machine benchmarks at 7598.78 pystones/second

however, It result 15500 at OSX!!! gentoo ppc is slow? or all ppc-linux is slow?

please let me know your result.

Thanks.

PS. My gentoo environment is, 2004.1 install with stage3, no glibc or gcc update yet,

Your kernel may benefit from the cpufreq patch mentioned on these forums - check it this thread: https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?t=177205

Moderators: that thread should be made a sticky until 2.6.8 comes out, or this patch is supplied in the ebuild.
