I found this post in which someone says that 2004.1 does not work on Old World boxes. Is this true? I'm having trouble booting a beige G3.

I recall seeing a post that said that when I was trying to boot a 2004.1 cd onto my 7300 w/g3 upgrade. So I tried a 2004.0, and that didn't work either. :) I finally got the 2004.1 cd to boot. Don't recall all the problems I was having -- there were several -- but I seem to recall mis-typing a kernel parameter in BootX.

Anyway, short answer: yes, it works on at least one Old World Mac.
