For those of us that are havin a problem whereby groff is bombing out just before installing itself, I invesigated this issue & found what the cause was:

texinfo4-7

Here's my proposed solution, at least until the devs or gcc devs get round to fixing it:

enter CONFIG_PROTECT in make.conf, down towards the bottom, and for the value you want it to protect, set it as follows:

/etc/make.profile/packages

Then, afterwardsm in nano, or your preferred editor, scroll down to where you find the reference to texinfo, delete the > key, and change the value of texinfo to 4.6

8) Works like a treat for me, solved my problems straight away, hope it helps others
