I'm trying to install the new Gentoo Mac OS X installer and when trying a "emerge-webrsync" I get a "date: illegal option" error. Does anyone now what I need to do to fix this?

i dont have experiance in gentoo-macos, but have you tried a normal "emerge sync"? it may be slower, but if it actually works.......

I can't because I'm behind a firewall.

If you have access to the firewall, I'm sure we could help you configure it properly for rsync. In any case, could you post the output of "emerge-webrsync -v"

Could you check if your date command supports the "-d" option used by emerge-webrsync?

EDIT: Wups - looks like there's a bug listed here. Looks like it's because OSX doesn't have GNU date, and doesn't support "-d". There's a diff posted, so check that out.

if that doesnt work, cant you go the dumb way, just point your browser to a gentoo mirror, download the tarball, and extract it yourself?
