Hello,

I would like to install Gentoo on my old Wallstreet Powerbook, unfortunately I can't get the computer to boot from the universal liveCD I'm using. The CD's fine because it works on my G4, but the powerbook refuses to recognize the disc and continues booting in OS9. I'm currently running 9.2.2. Does anyone know any possible issues, solutions, or workarounds for this? Thanks a bunch.

Are you holding down the 'c' key when you boot the machine? You have to do this on PPC, it doesn't happen automatically. :)

I guess you probably know this because you got it to work on your G4. Meh.

wallstreets still have an old-world firmware, even though they look like new world machines. you need to use bootx.
