I recently completed a 2004.1 second-stage install on my first-generation eMac, and the bootloader doesn't work.

Edit: This problem has been resolved. New problem a few posts down.

Upon running yabootconfig, the following is output:
---
Install yaboot bootstrap on /dev/hda2 to boot Linux from /dev/hda4? [Yes] [Enter]
Creating a simple /etc/yaboot.conf...
yabootconfig: Cannot find a kernel, please locate one
Enter path to kernel image: /boot/kernel-2.4.26-ppc-r3
ofpath: WARNING: Your kernel is too old for proper support, device may be innaccurate.
Running mkofboot to make the disk bootable...
ofpath: WARNING: Your kernel is too old for proper support, device may be innacturate.
Done.
---

When starting up, the screen flashes several times then displays the text "Starting stage two bootloader" (or something similar, if the exact text is needed i can reboot again), then does nothing further.

I get the same ofpath warning when running ybin.

Any ideas as to what the problem is or how to fix it?

Thank you, those threads were of great help to me and I agree with you in that they should be posted to the documentation.

However, now I have come across a new, unique bootloader problem.
The bootloader loads fine, and when I selected the default boot settings (The ones set up by yabootconfig), it seems to go back to OF and displays the following:
Code:
... ok
copying OF device tree...done
Calling quiesce ...
returning 0x01400000 from prom_init

and then goes no further.

I think this is a question for SeJo
Put his name at the end of the thread title with a bunch of stars to make him read it faster

SeJo, no explanation needed. I hope you are having a good time working abroad!

Anyways, although my original bootloader problem was resolved with the help of porodzilla, I still cannot boot due to a problem which I described a few posts back in this thread. Do you know anything about that problem?

Thanks in advance!
