:oops:
Hello,

This is my first try at Gentoo on a PPC (a 1Ghz PowerBook Aluminium to be precise). I've followed the installation guide and everything went fine except that when I boot into Gentoo (everything with grenn Okays) I end up at the login prompt and... whatever I type on the keyboard is not read.

Now I've setup the keymap as advised, I've de.activated adb support in the kernel, so I'm a little lost.

Is the PB keyboard consideres a usb-keyboard? Should I load any other module?

Any help would ne appreciated :)

Thierry

do you have USB-HID enabled in the kernel, that might help, wait for somebody who knows powerbooks to respond, I guess this is just a post count increaser.

@porodzilla: well, you crossed 1200 posts, so i guess its worth it :)

@tcoulon: as a temporary thing, so that you can use the system, you can use the kernel from the livecd... i think thye may even give the configs, so you could start with that...

i have an ibook, so i cant help you farther than that.

Somebody correct me if I am wrong, but isn't the Powerbook internal keyboard an ADB device? It seems to be so on my (older) Tibook. So if I am not mistaken you need ADB support into the kernel. I have in this respect
Code:
CONFIG_ADB=y
CONFIG_ADB_PMU=y
CONFIG_INPUT_ADBHID=y
and everything (internal keyboard, trackpad) works fine.

Thanks, that was it!

Either I was blind, or I did not have the config_input_adbhid in menuconfig. I edited .config directly and now it works!

So now, it time to configure X :))
