hey,

when i tried to run a GL application as an ordinary user, it didn't work. however, being root it's all fine:
Code:
savage@tigger ~ > glxgears
libGL error: failed to open DRM: Operation not permitted
libGL error: reverting to (slow) indirect rendering
1479 frames in 5.0 seconds = 295.800 FPS

savage@tigger ~ > sudo glxgears
8022 frames in 5.0 seconds = 1604.400 FPS

something's wrong with the rights. what is it? and in general, how can i track down these problems?

cheers :)
jens

ok, just found it ;-) simply add

Code:
Section "DRI"
    Mode 666
EndSection

to /etx/X11/xorg.conf and restart the X server. that'll do...

:D thanks man.

btw the
Code:
Section "DRI"
mode 0666
EndSection

is at the END of xorg.conf, not at the start.
