Hi!
I'm thinking about to buy a new Powerbook 12".
What's the hardwaresupport for Linux for the 12" modell at http://www.apple.com/powerbook/specs.html?

What I know (correct me if I'm wrong...):
- 3D acceleration won't work with the nvidia chip (but the default "nv" driver will work)
- Airport Extreme won't work

But what about sleep support? I know there are problems with sleep support and the new Powerbooks/iBooks, but isn't it an ATI issue? Does sleep work with the 12" Powerbook model with an nvidia chip?

Whats with CD-burning (no superdrive)? does it work?

What du you think? Will there be a airport extreme support within the next 6 month?

Michi

There's a sticky thread at the top of this forum that gives info on configuring most hardware on Powerbooks
https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?t=162622

Yes, acceleration and Aitport Extreme are not supported. Support in the next 6 months? Hard to say but I bought my Powerbook Al 15" with ATI GPU and Airport Extreme in February and there's still no support. I'm living happily enough without them tho.

As far as I can see, Sleep support wont work unless the graphics card is fully supported - someone correct me if I'm wrong...

CD-Burning works perfectly :-)
