I'm trying to build development-sources-2.6.7, and I'm running into errors during compilation. Here is what I get:

Code:
gossamer linux-2.6.7 # make all && make modules_install
make[1]: `arch/ppc/kernel/asm-offsets.s' is up to date.
  CHK     include/linux/compile.h
  CC      drivers/ide/ppc/pmac.o
drivers/ide/ppc/pmac.c: In function `pmac_ide_dma_read':
drivers/ide/ppc/pmac.c:1955: error: `ide_dma_intr' undeclared (first use in this function)
drivers/ide/ppc/pmac.c:1955: error: (Each undeclared identifier is reported only once
drivers/ide/ppc/pmac.c:1955: error: for each function it appears in.)
drivers/ide/ppc/pmac.c: In function `pmac_ide_dma_write':
drivers/ide/ppc/pmac.c:1986: error: `ide_dma_intr' undeclared (first use in this function)
drivers/ide/ppc/pmac.c: In function `pmac_ide_setup_dma':
drivers/ide/ppc/pmac.c:2161: error: `__ide_dma_off_quietly' undeclared (first use in this function)
drivers/ide/ppc/pmac.c:2162: error: `__ide_dma_on' undeclared (first use in this function)
drivers/ide/ppc/pmac.c:2171: error: `__ide_dma_verbose' undeclared (first use in this function)
drivers/ide/ppc/pmac.c:2172: error: `__ide_dma_timeout' undeclared (first use in this function)
make[2]: *** [drivers/ide/ppc/pmac.o] Error 1
make[1]: *** [drivers/ide] Error 2
make: *** [drivers] Error 2
gossamer linux-2.6.7 #

Has anybody else had this issue? I'm not sure if those things listed as error: are showstoppers or just warnings, but the compile is definitely bombing out as you can see. Any help would be appreciated.

For me "first use in this function" used to mean that I have forgotten to select a alternativ higher up in the kernelconfig list.
In your case I think you must chose more ide and/or dma options to complete the funktions you have chose.

Thanks Magnus! I'm trying some more options. Guess I got carried away with trying to streamline my kernel.
