I sent the dude who started this an update, but he never updated anything. If he is ever going to update the install you will get firewire, sata and some other stuff =)

If you want to use your e.g. dvcam then enable this too:
Code:
IEEE 1394 (FireWire) support --->
   <M> IEEE 1394 (FireWire) support
   ---    Device Drivers
   <M> OHCI-1394 support
   ---    Protocol Drivers
   <M> OHCI-1394 Video support
   <M> OHCI-DV I/O support
   <M> Raw IEEE1394 I/O support

Um guys,

Just letting you know that lm-sensors has been misdetecting our motherboards winbond chip that's responsible for checking temperatures.

According to a popular windows I2C application with many many motherboards (and a bunch of MCSE's on mailing lists chatting about it we have Winbond 83697hf chips (I could open the board and check..)

I've seen this brought up on the mailing lists for lm_sensors, because some people like myself can only detect 1 fan. There is more than one winbond chip as well. So lm-sensors is doing a misdetect and needs a patch in the future. I'll let you all know when I solve the problem and get support for all the fans.

Cheers,

LUke

Thanks for letting us know that. I know that a lot of people have talked about the need to properly calibrate their sensors, so hopefully that's all that is required from yours and not that your motherboard is in some way deficient. I personally only have 1 case fan and 1 CPU fan, so I can't comment on the multiple fan scenario.

BTW, now that the ATI drivers have come out for linux x86_64, I'm planning on updating my guide. I'm also considering playing around with the 2005.0 image and updating this guide with the new procedures, but I need to find out how to back up my configs and stuff first.

In other words, check back for changes in a couple of weeks.
