Easy tip --
i made a script to autoload konqueror:

Code:

while true
do
  konqueror --preload
  sleep 2
done

and called it residentKDE.sh

chmod 755 residentKDE.sh
chown username residentKDE.sh
and place it in /home/username

now modify /home/username/.fluxbox/startup

at the end of the file, but before "exec fluxbox" add the line:
Code:
./residentKDE.sh &

this will load an invisible instance of konqueror as well as keep it running in the background.

why is this a good idea? simple -- KDE apps load faster. I like the simplicity of fluxbox, but like kde apps. fluxbox seems much slower then KDE when you want to use KDE apps. This mod will allow KDE apps to load quickly in fluxbox.

And if you would like the benefits of having the basic kde subsystems loaded without preloading konqueror you can do that too. Just run kdeinit when your wm loads.
eg. you could have something like the following in your xinitrc
Code:
# Start kdeinit
LD_BIND_NOW=true kdeinit &

fluxbox

# Cleanup after fluxbox exit
kdeinit_shutdown
dcopserver_shutdown

Aside from making kde apps start faster either of these methods should also get rid of those errors you see in your terminal when starting kde apps outside of kde.
