Hey All,

I'm configuring a custom kernel on my powerbook for the first time and can't seem to get it to boot. I have G4 867Mhz powerbook with a superdrive, 384 MB Ram, and 40GB HDD.

I unmerged the gentoo-dev-sources and emerged them again and I was just wondering if anyone had a good guide I could follow. I tried following the gentoo handbook, but thier docs seem to be out of date compared to the options I see in the menuconfig.

Thanks!
Tyler

if the cd you use works well in booting up, maybe copy over the .config file from the /proc/config.gz and then alter it slightly to better suit your needs? just an idea...

Try "make help" in your kernel source tree. There should be a selection of default configs to pick from. (I'm not on my Mac at the moment, or I'd have the actual target.)

In case it helps, you could start from my config. It is for a Tibook rev III (667 MHz). I also have an older config I have posted earlier. This one is here (for a 2.6.7 kernel, not sure which one you are trying to build).

The following site lists .configs for a 1GHz and a 400MHz TiBook
