This competition may be of interest to some here. IBM will give some iPod Minis to developers who use sf.net to port their projects to LinuxPPC. The deadline for entry is midnight tomorrow.

Note that it's not the developer of the project who is doing the porting, it's some as-yet-unnamed PPC porters (maybe IBM themselves?? All they say is "other developers").

So the people who they are looking for are people who maintain non-PPC projects on SF.net, who are willing to "judge" how well their package is ported to PPC by these "other developers".

If the project is already available on PPC, or if it's a scripting or interpreted language (Java, PHP, PERL, etc.), you're not eligible.

So chances are most people in this forum (the PPC forum) aren't interested in this, because if they maintain any packages on SF.net, most likely they work on PPC too, no? ;)

Anyway, it's a great little contest. If 170 or less eligible people sign up, they all get iPods! ;) Only if >170 sign up, then they award them based on project activity ranking on SF.net.
