Hey.. I'm trying to load X and I'm getting a strange problem w/ black screen and blue flecks (kinda like soft blue whitenoise that shows up)
It isn't too bad except I have no trasnparency apparently (at least not on ETerm) and when it tries, I get that black w/ blue flecks thig
i thought that might be because I have a radeon graphics card, but I have to use ati drivers to get it to work instead of radeon drivers
when I try to load radeon drivers I get the following errors:
Code:
(EE) Failed to load /usr/X11R6/lib/modules/drivers/radeon_drv.so: unefined symbol: RADEONChipsets
(EE) Failed to laod module "radeon" (loader failed, 7)
(EE) No drivers available.

Fatal server error:
no screens found

anyone else (esp. on ppc64) experiencing the same problems and/or might know a fix? I emerged ati-drivers 3.11.1 and still no luck w/ radeon driver =/

Pretty sure emerging drivers isn't a great idea. If I remember correctly, they're only for x86. I think you have to use the in-kernel drivers, at least that's the case for 800MHz iBooks... :0)
