I really need help with my yaboot config.
I have followed the documentation as close as possible.
Here is my setup...
two internel sata drives
/dev/sda is macosx
/dev/sdb is gentoo
/dev/sdb1 is partition mac
/dev/sdb2 is bootstrap
/dev/sdb3 is swap
/dev/sdb4 is root

can someone fill out this form for me please...
and check to see if the filled in ones are correct.
boot=
ofboot=
device=
partition=
install=/usr/lib/yaboot/yaboot
magicboot=/usr/lib/yaboot/ofboot
image=/boot/kernel-2.6.8-gentoo-r3
label=Gentoo
root=/dev/sdb4
sysmap=/boot/System.map-2.6.8
read-only
macosx-hd:
enablecdboot
enableofboot

thank you for the help :)

boot=

/dev/sdb2 (your bootstrap partition)

ofboot=

I never initialized this one, it is fine on my system with the default value (if any).

device=

The OF path to sdb (the disk containing the bootstrap partition). On my system I ran
Code:
ofpath /dev/sda
(/dev/sdb in your case) and copied whatever was returned.

4

Correct.

Ditto.

macosx-hd:

Never used this one. I used instead
Code:
macosx=/dev/sda11
(replace sda11 with your Mac OS partition) for the short time I had OS X on my system.

enablecdboot

Correct.

enableofboot

Never used this one.

Hope this helps,
Stefan
