I recently did an:
Code:
 emerge -depclean
I thought that this would help me, but i was very wrong. I rebooted and it says that my root filesystem can't be read. It suggests running e2fsck but that doesn't work.

any help would be appreciated!

I've never done an emerge -depclean (for various reasons), but from what I hear, it is always recommended to do a revdep-rebuild after it (it should reinstall packages that are still needed). You cannot boot, so you might want to boot to a livecd, mount the important partitions, and chroot into your main gentoo install. then you should be able to run revdep-rebuild.

as I've never done a depclean, I've never done this either.

cheers, and good luck!
