Hi all,
I'm wanting to install dbdesigner on my iBook....but, when I emerge -p dbdesigner, it tells me all are masked...

I've tried with ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="ppc", but, still gives me no valid ebuilds to use...I can see it in /usr/portage/dev-db/dbdesigner...

Any clues as to what to do..or will it just simply not work on ppc?

Thanks in advance,

cayenne

Hi,

It looks that the ebuild downloads pre-compiled binaries for x86.
Hint: KEYWORDS="-* ~x86" (the -*) and it gets installed in /opt.

So, the answer is know. You cannot install it on ppc by using the ebuild.

I look quickly on the web page and it seems to be open source but I have no clue why it is not compiled from source.
