How I got Gentoo 2004.1 PPC on an IBM RS/6000 B50

1) Boot using zImage.chrp-rs6k and ramdisk.image.gz floppies from SuSE's FTP
2) Partition from SuSE installer and use the future swap partition as SuSE 's root partition
3) Install Basic SuSE 7.3 PPC from CD
4) Boot from floppy and use SuSE's installed as root
5) Mount Gentoo CD, mount partitions, chroot and do the Gentoo steps
6) Downloaded stock kernel 2.6.8.1 and configured it (a lot of times util it worked)... Here is the config for the working kernel.
7) B50 doesnt work with nvsetenv, so chmod a-x /usr/sbin/nvsetenv to Yaboot work.
8 ) After having the working Gentoo booted, mkswap on SuSE's root and use it as swap.
9) Have fun....

Here are the basic steps... use it with the FIRST DRAFT from JurgyMan, at
https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?t=42672

I'll write a more complete explanation when I have time and post it elsewere... Almost nobody here had helped me, and nobody that has a IBM/PPC helped :x ... so... I think nobody here will need my help to!!

Regards,
