I have successfully downloaded and run coLinux + gentoo on my XP SP2 box, with bridged networking!

here is the details of my box:
AMD Athlon XP 1800+
Windows XP SP2
512 MB of RAM
sufficient HDD space :)
coLinux installed in C:\coLinux
ADSL router internet connection

And here is the procedure if you want to have coLinux running on your XP SP2 box:

download the latest snapshot of coLinux, since the stable version doesn't support SP2
read
this article and come back here for the network configuation (You have got to install winPCap as well, Tap is unnesssesary actually, but install it in case :))

in your default.config.xml, locate the line
Code:
<network index="0" type="tap" />

and change it to
Code:
<network index="0" type="bridged" name="Local Area Connection"/>

where "Local Area Connection" is the connection used by your actual network card (NOT the name of the network card!! )

start your machine and go!

more about coLinux + gentoo could be found at the GentooDeluxHowto
