Here's a simple howto on using your windows menu key as a modifier. The windows menu key is the key to the right of the right windows key.
I had a lot of trouble trying to figure this out, so I figured I'd try to make it easier for others
Put this in ~/.Xmodmap:
Code: | keycode 117 = F14
add Mod5 = F14 |
and this in ~/.xinitrc:
Code: | xmodmap ~/.Xmodmap & |
The menu key will be bound to Mod5, which you can use in your applications as a modifier. _________________ Play ET? Come by #gentoo.et on freenode!

YES!!! now I can use that Windows Key for something useful... I was actually thinking of popping it off the other day and cementing up the keyhole. _________________ Ubuntu Linux Dapper Drake running Gnome-2.14.1
