Ok, I couldn't get yabootconfig to work (can't remember the error) so I decided to try to do configure yaboot.conf manually by using the example. My bootstrap partitiion is /dev/hda2, swap is 3 and root is 4. I filled out the conf file using this info and the name of the kernel, kernel2.6.8-gentoo-r7.

After I rebooted I received the error message hd:3, /boot/kernel2.6.8-gentoo-r7:Unknown or corrupt filesystem, when trying to login.

If I try to do the yabootconfig again will I have to go through all the previuos steps again as far as mounting and all?

Can someone please help me again, I'm so close
:?

Hi,

Please post your yaboot config (/etc/yaboot.conf).

Make sure your root file system specifies:

root=/dev/hda4

It is trying to boot form your swap, I think. (hd:3)
