Sometimes I'm using my iBook as a second desktop computer, and I wonder which is the best way to use the battery:
a) I should keep the battery into the iBook and
a.1.) Keep the cable plugged
a.2.) Unplug the cable
b) I should take the battery off and plug the cable.

What do you think?

I remember reading somewhere in one of the manuals for my personal laptop that if you just want to store a Li-Ion battery for a good while, discharge it to like 50% and then take it out and let it sit. Then just run with the laptop plugged in. That should extend the life of the battery (though you might have to do a full drain -> recharge on it to recondition it)

hth,

Apple has a lot of helpful information at http://www.apple.com/batteries/ and http://www.apple.com/batteries/notebooks.html...
