Yeah - I had the same thing occur to me, once... but I fixed it.

Follow the instructions for install EXACTLY, and then once you get to the 'reboot' stage IF it says something about the filesystem being corrupt, reboot off of the cd, and run the following command:

e2fsck -vf /dev/<root-parition>


Note: if you have reiserfs, you'll need to use reiserfsck; check man reiserfsck for details (should be similar usage)

This will force a check and repair on the root filesystem (which is says is corrupt).

I had this problem with the 2004.3 CD, but not the 2004.2 ones...

as for the kernel image not found in yaboot config... you have to enter the path to the image where you installed it (which is probably /mnt/gentoo/boot/kernel-2.6.9, or something like that... wherever you installed the kernel image).

If you want my kernel config, I'll upload it... but it's not really 'tested' and such... but it's working for me :wink:

could you upload your kernel config? i'd appreciate the help. any other configuration files would be much appreciated especially make.conf. i really want to get gentoo up and running today. once you upload your kernel config, what do i do with it?
