I use kernel 2.6.9 for my ibook..

May I switch for kernel 2.6.7 or less ?

I experienced some problems with pbbuttons for example...

Thanks

What kind of problems?

How far back in kernel-time you can go depends on how old your iBook is. If it's newer than April 2004, I wouldn't go any earlier than 2.6.7, because you will get display flickering. Even then you will need to apply the cpufreq patch yourself, because it wasn't in that kernel. If you iBook is older than April 2004, you can go back further, but I don't know how far.

2.6.7+cpufreq would be fine.

I don't know what your problems with pbbuttons are (or what other problems you're experiencing, given that that's an example) but it could be that they're the fault of pbbuttons rather than the kernel.

Problems I was experiencing with pbbuttons were fixed by remerging it (as suggested by this thread.)
