You might want to ask also on the Mol mailing list. I know that Mol support given access to the USB device to OS X (instead of Linux) and therefore, possible to use OS X drivers for USB devices.

I guess in theory maybe something similar could be implemented for Airport Extreme but I am not aware.

Maybe we should start a petition so Apple changes its provider :) Seems a major blocker to Mac hardware currently and unlikely to get resolve soon.

My experience is that e.g. graphics hardware acceleration is not available under MOL - I guess that MOL is accessing the hardware with the Linux drivers - not the drivers of MacOS X. But that is just a theory! I guess this would be the same for the other pieces of hardware... :-(

I don't have a Airport Extreme card - I bought an Orinoco card to access WLAN. It works flawless!

Thats right. MOL normally uses linux drivers.
If you do some searching the developers say
it probably would be possible to have MOL access
the hardware directly.

I'm currently trying to do that right now.
I got a patch from someone who seems to
install a virtual PCI device, but thats it so far.

Right now I'm just trying to understand the MOL
code and how some of the hardware is used
under Mac OS X.

Let me know if anyone wants to help - I can pass on
the patch.

Unfortunately, the Airport Extreme is not supported under linux, and since MOL goes through linux for the hardware, it doesn't work. It would be great if someone could have mol access the hardware directly. I think that it could find the ap extreme and would work. If you get it working, put a post on the forum, I bet thousands of people would be praising your name.
