This is a simple tip for when you need to create many documents based off the same file. This will work for any kind of file which you have the ability to edit. Simply place the base file in ~/Templates and name it appropriately. I commonly use the format "New [FOO] file". Now, in nautilus, you can right click anywhere and choose "Create Document --> [New FOO File]. So if you have a gimp/inkscape file, for example, with certain gradients and layout presetup, you don't have to keep opening it and clicking "save as" and then forgetting and overwriting your files  .

Basically, for all who migrated and remember, this is basically the same functionaly MS Windows had with "New --> FOO".
